Sangita/Rajaram Kushwaha, a hardworking farmer woman from Semli village, has a story full of inspiration. Despite living in a joint family with 12 members, Sangita efficiently manages her responsibilities while providing full support to the organization she works with.
Sangita has initiated organic farming near her home, creating a nutrition and herbal garden with fruit-bearing plants like mango, jamun, rambutan, jackfruit, and amla. This farming not only helps her become self-reliant but also improves her family's nutrition. Sangita shared that she sold spinach worth ₹15,000 from her Rabi crops, and after planting improved varieties of vegetables, she earns a good income. She is also preparing vegetable seeds, which generate additional income for her.
Sangita's dream is to provide quality education to her children, and she works diligently towards this goal. She was also concerned about her family's health, which led her to incorporate the use of soybean (after processing) into their daily diet. The positive changes she has seen in her family’s health have made her very happy.
Sangita’s success is also supported by her family, especially her mother-in-law and sister-in-law, who are actively involved in her endeavors. Together, they are now planning to start a dairy business, which will further empower their family and help them become even more self-sufficient. Sangita's journey demonstrates that with hard work, dedication, and the right steps, any woman’s life can be transformed.
